Lai Lai Wok is family owned and operated. Chef Chen has over 45 years of chef experience. His chef experience is comprised of many different styles of Asian cooking. He learned his cooking from master chefs in China and Taiwan and eventually led himself to New York City where he worked for several years before opening his restaurant in Brooklyn, New York. 23 years later, he saw an opportunity to start a change of life in the mid west while driving cross country with his son that was continuing his education on the west coast. He decided to take on the task with his wife, Jennifer. Together they worked through many weeks with no rest days in the beginning to make a name for themselves in the small town.

After 7 years since opening they have only closed a handful of times. They still deliver quality and consistent dishes time after time. That is what family owned restaurants  is all about!
